Actually Merlin is the bird sipping brandy. My name is Cheryl and I have
2 children, Deja & Aaron. Deja is married to Steve, who recently retired
from the Air Force after a very full 18+ year career. He lost his hip/leg
to bone cancer in Dec 1999 but is making a remarkable recovery and is more than
half way through his chemo. His positive attitude has been an inspiration to
his family and friends as has my daughter's support on his behalf. He has a
brand new prosthetic 'athlete' quality leg waiting for him when he's all healed
up. Deja and Steve just had a new baby son, their first child and my first
grandchild.....Bryan!!! Deja plans to finish her college degree in
English next spring. Deja writes beautiful poetry and interesting stories and
Steve's specialty was jet aircraft, different kinds, but F-15's are his forte.
He's going to play 'Mr. Mom' for a while to allow his body to heal and re-learn
how to walk with his prosthetic leg. Aaron will be graduating from college with
a degree in MIS Networking in 2000 and plans to go to law school hopefully this
fall.
I also have just a few birds: an umbrella cockatoo (Merlin), 2 blue&gold
macaws (Casey,Gonzo), 2 conures (a matched pair...Jo(she's the mouthy one)
& Alex(he defers to Jo), a cockatiel (Skooter). My parents also have a
blue&gold macaw (Pappy...we thought he was a she-a mate for Casey (ha...were
we wrong!:)). Three big macaws.....and they're all boys. Of course we thought
Merlin was a boy for 8 years until 'he' decided to lay a few eggs this year.
We're still trying to get used to saying 'hi baby girl'. Then there are the
other 3 cockatiels...Iggy,Sammy & Noname....and one little parrotlet (Perry)
rounds out the bunch!!! Poor Simba, my parents female cat, should be happy
with so many birds in the house but she runs when they shriek!!!!

Past(& still) favorites: Hart to Hart, Scarecrow & Mrs. King, Remington Steele, I Love Lucy, Mash.
Favorite movies: anything James Bond or Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Practical Magic, Flashdance, Dirty Dancing, Pretty Woman, Good Neighbor Sam, old Bogart & Cary Grant movies.
Favorite stores: Barnes & Noble, Michael's Crafts, Best Buy
P.S. Bet you couldn't guess -- I have a HUGE collection of birds (mostly owls): ceramic, pictures, wax candles.....
